Rotorua: Stay, Play, Dine, & Shop!
If you are considering heading our way to play on our unique course, then be sure to check out everything else our city has to offer!
Rotorua is a city on the southern shores of the lake of the same name, situated in the Bay of Plenty Region of the North Island of New Zealand. Thermal activity is at the heart of much of Rotorua’s appeal. Within easy reach around the city you can find geysers, thermal hot springs, and boiling mud pools at places such as Kuirau Park, the Buried Village, Polynesian Spa, Waimangu Valley, and Wai-O-Tapu Wonderland, just to name a few.
The Rotorua region is home to 17 lakes. Fishing, waterskiing, swimming and other water activities are popular in the summer. Catch the New Zealand Riverjet, a Rotorua Duck Tour, or head out on the Lakeland Queen. The Whakarewarewa Forrest, situated just across the road from our Golf Course, has been described as the Disneyland of mountain biking. It is also home to beautiful walks and hiking tracks.
Rotorua is the heartland of Maori culture in New Zealand and a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the stories of these vibrant people. Everything from sampling indigenous flavours cooked using traditional methods and watching master carvers at work, to exploring historic villiages and participation in traditional singing, dancing, and games. If you want the best cultural experience be sure to visit the Buried Village, Rotorua Museum, Mitai Maori Village, or Hells Gate.
Rotorua is a short drive south from Auckland, or a direct flight from Sydney will get you to Rotorua within 3 hours. If you are travelling by Cruise Ship you can experience Rotorua easily from the Port of Tauranga.
